This product is a part of our 5/16″Â Solid Hardwood Flooring Collection. This solid rift and quarter
sawn red oak flooring is 5/16″ Thick, 1 1/2″ Wide, and features long, random lengths from 15 Inches all the way up to 11 Feet Long!
This is solid rift and quartered hardwood flooring, but it does NOT have Tongue &Â Groove milling. This flooring is square on all 4
sides, and is specifically designed Face Nail (Top-Nailing), or Glue Down installation.
You cannot use a traditional flooring stapler to install this solid hardwood flooring, however, thanks to HighPRO Tools you can use a fast and easy Pneumatic Top-Nailer called the HP-50 to install this flooring quickly and easily.
For Glue Down installation of this flooring, there are a variety of acceptable adhesives on the market, one of which is Bostik’s Best, which is approved for the installation of 5/16″ thick solid hardwood flooring according to Bostik’s requirements for your job-site, such as acceptable moisture levels in concrete slab, if you install over concrete. If you are planning to install this flooring by the Glue Down method, we strongly recommend that you consult with a local hardwood flooring profession in YOURÂ AREA to be sure that your local climate is acceptable for this type of installation.
Because this flooring is rift &
quartersawn, it is more dimensionally stable than
plain-sawn oak flooring, meaning it is less likely to have moisture related problems such as cupping, splitting etc… Most professionals also recommend this type of flooring for installation over your In-Floor Radiant Heating systems.
This is Select & Better Grade Red Oak, so the finest, clearest planks have been selected for this product. Natural imperfections like knots, mineral streaks, and off-colored planks have been removed, leaving only the cleanest, clearest planks for this product.
This Rift &Â Quarter Sawn red oak hardwood is 5/16 inch thick, 1 1/2 inches wide, and features extra long planks ranging from 15 Inches up to 11 Feet long. Again, this flooring is NOT tongue &Â groove flooring, so it must be installed by Top Nail or Glue Down installation only.
