Although it was a common flooring product at one time, this 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ Quarter Sawn White Oak is considered incredibly rare in today’s hardwood flooring market.

This Select & Better Rift & Quarter Sawn White Oak flooring is a 1/2″ thick solid hardwood floor in a 1 1/2″ wide plank.

There are 3 factors contributing to the incredibly high dimensional stability of this unique flooring product:

1.  Sawing Method – Quarter Sawn hardwood expands and contracts vertically, instead of horizontally, almost completely eliminating the chances of cupping, crowning, shrinkage, gapping, etc, related to issues with Relative Humidity.
2.  Thickness – At a 1/2 Inch thickness, each piece is thinner than standard 3/4″ hardwood, resulting in a smaller piece of lumber to expand, meaning you are less likely to have variances in thickness that are visible to the naked eye.
3.  Width – Because these strips are so narrow at only 1 1/2 Inches wide, issues such as expansion, contraction, swelling, etc, are greatly reduced, eliminating many of the worries that would normally be a concern when considering real hardwood flooring.

This solid, unfinished white oak flooring measures 1/2″ thick, 1 1/2″ wide, and boards range in length from 1 to 7 feet long.
